Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann to Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius-Refrain From Communion.

Thank goodness the Archbishop of Kansas City finally came out publicly to decry Governor Sebelius's unfettered support for abortion here in Kansas. He had earlier asked her to refrain from communion but found out she has continued to partake in it. He is quite serious, and said that he hopes she will comply and "not require from me any additional pastoral actions."
In the local Catholic paper 'The Leaven', Archbishop Naumann wrote: "The spiritually lethal message, communicated by our governor, as well as many other high-profile Catholics in public life, has been in effect: 'The church's teaching on abortion is optional!'"
One of Governor Sebelius's strongest campaign funders is Dr. George Tiller. He is one of just a few abortionists that continue to perform late-term abortions here in the states. Archbishop Naumann's demands are well founded.
Governor Sebelius has vetoed legislation in reference to late term abortion. She did so because she didn't like the provisions in the bill that would have allowed the woman's spouse or family members to use the courts to stop the procedure if they believed a late term abortion was about to occur.
The bill would also require doctors using ultrasound or monitering fetal heartbeats to make such information available to the woman at least 30 minutes before the abortion. They would have had to tell the patients whether their babies were viable or not outside the womb and why. The bill did not have enough support to override the Governor's veto. Archbishop Naumann said Kansas "has become infamous for being the late-term abortion center for the Midwest."

the atmosphere, but she sees nothing wrong with flushing the carbon from an aborted baby down the drain. She sees nothing wrong with enviro-wacko groups suing over the phantom global warming, but is opposed to passing the mentioned legislation because it would encourage legislation. Talk about some screwed up priorities.

Of course don't expect LA's gutless Hollywood pandering cardinal to be as brave as Archbishop Naumann. Time for Naumann's memo to each Rome and have our cardinals sound a similar drumbeat or resign.
